► South Melbourne Special Junior Event (U/8 - U/12 only)

SMLSC will be running the U/8 – U/12 carnival. To host a carnival we require all hands on deck. Please nominate your availability on Tuesday 17 January at the latest to Heather Cameron.
Senior members your assistance at this event would also be greatly appreciated.
Help required in the following areas:
• Traffic control for equipment trailers;
• Work party to assist LSV set up beach;
• Work party to assist LSV to pack up beach;
• Kitchen help for beach officials lunches and formal luncheon upstairs;
• BBQ – sausage sizzle fundraiser
The carnival will finish between 2pm- 3pm. The Club will provide a sausage sizzle as a thankyou for all our members who have helped on the day. The bar will be open for a relaxing get together and to talk about the days events. We encourage all members to come along to this social event.

► Nippers Competition
As well as our education program we encourage our Nippers to become involved in competition.
There is an additional requirement to be part of the competition training team outlined in the Nipper Information book. This requirement is water based only although we strongly advise that children in the competition team are involved in water and land events. South had a small but enthusiastic group of 8 competitors who flew the flag: Ted Logan, Max Ashkanasy, Meg Logan, James Cardwell, Robbie Hinrichsen, Ben Ashkanasy and Ed Hinrichsen. We achieved some great results including: U/10 girls Meg Logan 1st - Beach Flags 1st – Surf race 1st - Board relay (composite team) U/11 boys James Cardwell 4th - Beach Flags 6th - Ironman Ben Ashkanasy 6th - Beach Flags 16th - 500m run Robbie Hinrichsen 8th - Ironman Ben, Robbie and James were 8th in the Board Relay and the Aqua Cameron (as part of a composite team) Ed Hinrichsen 4th - Ironman heat 9th - Ironman final ► Lakes Entrance State Carnival 2011Take a look at a few images of our Nippers team in action at the Victorian State Titles, Lakes Entrance on Labour Day weekend 2011.
