South Melbourne Life Saving Club is centrally located just a few kilometers south of Melbourne's central business district.

The club provides a vital role in safe-guarding one of Melbourne's most popular bay beaches throughout the summer months proving a valuable service to the community.

The club also provides many avenues for its members to gain expertise in all aspects of lifesaving - Nipper program, beach patrol course (Bronze Medallion), first aid qualifications  which enables us as a club to provide a valuable contribution to South Melbourne and the broader community.

► "Get On Board"  New Clubhouse Appeal $1m

Our community appeal

South Melbourne Life Saving Club seeks your generous donation to enable us to complete the redevelopment of our clubhouse. 

It will provide a sustainable, environmentally friendly and modern
lifesaving resource. This facility will benefit the Life Saving Club, and our community.

Appeal target $1,000,000 
This critical need for a new lifesaving facility has so far received significant support from the City of Port Phillip ($2M) and Life Saving Victoria ($1M), through a State Government Grant to rebuild Life Saving Clubs. 

Our target of $1m is
now required to complete the redevelopment. SMLSC is committed to raising the remaining funds through its members and community supporters. The South Melbourne Life Saving Club New Building project construction is due to commence in 2013.
